The Rockford Area REALTORS, REALTORS Association of Northwestern Illinois, and Illinois REALTORS announce $25,000 in grant assistance available for May 2019 Stephenson and Winnebago counties flood victims. The Illinois REALTORS Relief Foundation (IRRF) was established in 2015 to assist those living in communities affected by natural disasters. IRRF is a 501(c)(3) organization where REALTORS and other interested parties can make tax deductible donations to assist disaster victims throughout Illinois.
“Realtors help buy and sell homes, but we are much more, said Ginger Sreenan, REALTOR Association of Northwestern Illinois’ chief executive officer. When a natural disaster impacts our community, we stand ready to help homeowners and renters rebuild their investment.”
Those seeking assistance may apply online by searching Illinois REALTORS Relief Foundation or visit https://www.cognitoforms.com/IllinoisAssociationOfREALTORS1/IllinoisREALTORSReliefFoundation. Applicants can request up to $500 in grant support. Grant monies may be used to cover the cost of a monthly mortgage expense, rental fees for temporary shelter, and unreimbursed losses directly related to the disaster such as insurance deductible. Aid is provided on a first come first, first-serve basis. Applicants are highly encouraged to apply before the September 30, 2019 deadline.
“Realtors live, work and volunteer in their communities and take pride in working to revitalize and improve them, said Conor Brown, Rockford Area REALTORS chief executive officer. Local Realtors encourage victims to apply for assistance, and we are here to help them through the grant process.”
