Rockford Area REALTORS® is thrilled to announce that its Board of Directors has unanimously chosen Conor Brown as the Association’s next Chief Executive Officer. Conor, who was employed by the Illinois REALTORS®, succeeds former CEO Steve Bois.
“I am excited to serve and represent the Rockford Area REALTORS® in this new capacity,” said Conor. “It is my intention that we continue the enormous impact we have on our local real estate economy and the communities we serve. I am very grateful for the confidence the search committee and Board of Directors have in my abilities. I look forward to this new beginning in serving and engaging our members.”
Conor received his Bachelor of Arts from Hillsdale College in 2001, majoring in Political Economy. From 2001 to 2005, Conor worked as a Senior Legislative Assistant for Representative Donald Manzullo (R-Egan) in Washington, DC. He then returned to Rockford to serve as Manager of Government Affairs at the Rockford Chamber of Commerce. Since 2006, Conor Brown has been the Government Affairs Director for Rockford Area REALTORS®, the Heartland Realtor® Organization, REALTOR® Association of Northwestern Illinois, and the Belvidere Board of REALTORS®. Conor serves as a member of the Regional Communication Council of Transform Rockford and as a Strategy Team member for Next Rockford. Conor resides in Rockford with his wife, Susie, a DeKalb native, and their five children.
“From day one, back in January of 2008, I saw true wisdom and potential in Conor Brown,” said current CEO Steve Bois. “We have spent over a decade working together, serving our members, and defending home ownership and property rights in the region. Many times when I had a critical decision to make, I would consult with Conor and his advice was always thorough and wise. Today, I couldn’t be more proud, confident and pleased that the hard work of the search committee culminated in the recommendation to hire Conor Brown as the next CEO of Rockford Area REALTORS®.”
Conor thanked Steve Bois for his commitment to the Association. “Through Steve’s hard work and dedication to the Rockford Area REALTORS®, he has positioned this Association for a smooth transition,” said Conor. “His legacy and accomplishments will be remembered and felt for years to come. I am so thankful for his mentorship, but more importantly his friendship.”
